New catamaran, the ‘Pirata de Canexol’.

Naviera Piratas de Nabia expands its fleet with a new catamaran, the ‘Pirata de Canexol’.

 The vessel has the peculiar triple bow of the Castropol firm’s catamarans, and with its 24 meters in length it will be able to comfortably transport up to 250 passengers in the waters of the Vigo estuary.

The new Piratas de Nabia catamaran is 24 meters long and can comfortably transport up to 250 passengers in the waters of the Ría de Vigo. The catamaran “Pirata de Canexol” has already been christened and will soon be ready to work together with the rest of the ships of the Piratas de Nabia fleet.

The name of the vessel honors one of the beaches of the island of Ons, a very important island for the history of Nabia and for its owner, Susi Acuña.

The ship has been built by GONDÁN, a shipbuilding company with more than 90 years of experience in the sector and based in the Asturian council of Castropol.

After being towed to the port of Ribadeo, the catamaran has been moored at the Porcillán dock, where it will remain for engine start-up, calibration and sea trials, until its delivery scheduled for the end of May.
