Starlight C\u00edes, what do we mean?<\/p>\n

The clean sky of the C\u00edes Islands<\/strong>, thanks to its low light pollution, made that in 2016, the Starlight Foundation<\/a>, certified the C\u00edes<\/strong> as a “starlight<\/strong>“tourist destination<\/strong><\/a> to see the stars<\/strong> along with the other islands <\/strong>of the Park, Ons Island, S\u00e1lvora and Cortegada<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Thanks to the protection and responsible tourism, this starlight<\/strong> certification was achieved, which today becomes a great tourist attraction if you visit the island<\/strong>. But this is not all,<\/p>\n\n

Starlight Destinations are places with optimal conditions for stargazing. They must be accredited by the Starlight Foundation<\/a>, which certifies that they have excellent qualities for star gazing.<\/p>\n

Fundamentally, it is necessary that these areas, in this case the islands of the National Park, be free of light pollution. An island in the ocean as C\u00edes or Ons is a good place, no doubt, to enjoy a starry sky without light disturbance, even if we are close to the city of Vigo.<\/p>\n

The 1st International Starlight Conference<\/em> (April 2007) established the principles of the “Declaration on the Defense of the Night Sky and the Right to Starlight”, also called the “Declaration of La Palma”.<\/p>\n

C\u00edes starlight routes, for astronomy fans<\/h2>\n\n

Every year many visitors come to the C\u00edes Islands<\/strong> to see the stars<\/strong>, and in addition, throughout the summer<\/strong> there are guided astronomical observations by boat<\/strong>.
