If you have already been convinced to visit the National Park of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia<\/strong>, the next step is to decide whether to take a boat to the C\u00edes Islands or to Ons<\/strong>. Although there are more islands <\/strong>, it is clear that these two are the most touristic and surprising to our eyes, and yes, we have all asked ourselves this question: Are the C\u00edes Islands or the Ons Islands<\/strong> better? We tend to compare them to decide on one to take the boat<\/strong>, but… wrong! Each has its own charm.<\/p>\n\n

If there is something you must take into account is for example the issue of the authorization<\/strong>, the overnight stay, the duration of the journey, where the boat<\/strong>leaves from… And we are going to tell you about that here so without further ado… Let’s get started!<\/p>\n\n

From which ports do ships depart to the Atlantic Islands?<\/h3>\n\n

Boats to C\u00edes<\/strong> depart from Vigo, Cangas, Baiona and the duration is approximately 40 minutes. However, if you choose a boat to Ons<\/strong> the trip from Vigo is about an hour and a quarter and from Bueu and Portonovo between half an hour and 45 minutes.<\/p>\n\n

Boats to C\u00edes and Ons <\/strong>leave at 09:30 and return at 20:00 hours, more or less. The price of the trip to C\u00edes<\/strong> is 20 \u20ac in July and August, and 18,50 \u20ac the rest of the season, to Ons<\/strong> is always 15 \u20ac. For children there is a special price, in fact, children under 3 years old can travel<\/strong> free of charge.<\/p>\n\n

Where can I eat and sleep if I go to C\u00edes or Ons?<\/h3>\n\n

Whether you go to C\u00edes<\/strong> or Ons<\/strong>, you will have places to eat, dine, sleep… However, if you are going to take a boat<\/strong> to the islands<\/strong> out of season, it is best to check first if there are any establishments open,<\/p>\n\n

If you are going in high season there is no problem. On the island of Ons<\/strong> you can visit the restaurant Casa Acu\u00f1a<\/strong>, awarded for having the best pulpeira of Galicia, and the Bar O Pirata<\/strong>. In the C\u00edes<\/strong> there is the restaurant of the Camping Islas C\u00edes<\/strong>, the Rodas Restaurant, the Seraf\u00edn Bar and the Bego\u00f1a snack bar. So it is clear that, for eating, there is no problem, remember that we are still in Galicia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

And yes, whether the boat<\/strong> takes you to C\u00edes <\/strong>or Ons<\/strong> you have no problem, you can spend the night at Camping Illas C\u00edes<\/strong> or, in Ons<\/strong>, at \n Casa Acu\u00f1a<\/strong>\n<\/a> and also in the Camping.<\/p>\n\n

Do I need authorization to go?<\/h3>\n\n

With this one you must be attentive because if you go by boat to C\u00edes <\/strong>and Ons<\/strong> you must get authorization<\/strong> at Easter and high season (from May 15 to September 15).<\/p>\n\n

The authorization<\/strong> can be for a daily visitor, meaning that you go and return by boat<\/strong> on the same day, or it can be for an overnight stay, since it is a different authorization if you are going to return by boat <\/strong>the following day.<\/p>\n\n
