The Northern Trail (or the “Naturist Trail”) is the most popular trail on Ons Island, as it’s the one used to get to the nudist beach of Melide. It sets out from the information booth of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia Natural Park and covers the entire northern part of the island. It crosses the village of O Curro, and at the crossroads, it turns right towards the north. It passes by Fonte do Castelo, and after taking the track on the right, you’ll skirt the gently sloping cliffs on the south coast to Melide Beach. From there, climb up to the crossroads, choose the right and take the diversion to the Punta Centulo Lookout Point, which has restricted access between 15 February and 31 July (as it’s a breeding area). After getting back on the path, continue southwest along the steep western coast—between Punta Xobenco and Punta Liñeiros—, a great place to go birdwatching and observe their nesting areas. After descending towards Enseada de Caniveliñas, turn left and cross the island on your way to O Curro.
