In the Cíes Islands, there are no vehicles and the number of daily visitors (limited to 2,200 people) is a sure-fire guarantee of some peace and quiet. The two main islands are linked together by Rodas Beach and a small breakwater bridge; all trails set out from the jetty.
The four main trails (Cíes Lighthouse Trail, A Porta Lighthouse Trail, Alto do Príncipe Trail and O Peito Lighthouse Trail) are waymarked and will take you to the three lighthouses. These trails—which continuously go up and down—will let you trek around the islands without entering the reserve area (the cliffs and the furnas that go from Punta do Cabalo, to the north, to Punta do Canabal, to the south) and enjoy the splendour of nature, the landscapes and the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean.
